| While Sea Bight's formal history starts in 1869, there was, in the early 1840's, a small cluster of wooden shacks nestled among the tall grass-topped sand dunes of the barrier beach. This was the village of Nauvoo. Meaning literally "beautiful of pleasant place". |

Sea Bright is known for its private beach clubs and beautiful restaurants. They have seven beach clubs. It also has a day-care center for dogs. If you want to shed off some pounds and get into shape, they also have brand new fitness club. For all you men who like to look good, there is the North shore men's clothing shop. Stress getting you down? Sea Bright also has the Brahma Yoga Spa. A beautiful place for reflection and concentration. Sea Bright is a great place to have fun and enjoy life. |
In 1870 John was living at a Home in Brooklyn, New York, In 1880 he was living with Dr. Stephen M. Drisbow and their family in Monmouth New Jersey, he was now 16 years old.
I researched Stephen Drisbrow and went back 4 generations. His Ancestor John D. Drisbrow, was born 9-9-1757 in South Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey. He had 7 children one of who is Nicholas Morgan Drisbrow. Nicholas Morgan Drisbrow had a sister, Hannah Drisbrow who Married a Richard Mount (1740-1787). Richard Mount is John's Great Great Grandfather who fought in the American Revolution.
It would appear as though the Mount's and the Drisbrow family watched out for one another., even though 150 years in time had passed. That's quite a dedication to family. I now wonder if John knew about his Great Great Grandfather Richard and his Great Great Grandmother Hanna.
In 1930 census he was listed in Sea bright New Jersey, which is where his son and my grandfather, George William Mount was born. He passed away in 1935.
